Hi! I’m Charlotte.
I am a consultant, former space engineer, and writer based in Seattle. I'm currently a Principal at Boston Consulting Group, where I advise aerospace and defense leaders on strategy and operations. I am especially passionate about space technologies and am a member of the North America commercial leadership team for BCG’s space sector practice. I also write a science column for Forbes focused on translating space news for a general business audience.
Before becoming a consultant, I was a Mission Integration Engineer at SpaceX; in this role, I led human systems certification for our Dragon 2 spacecraft, served as the cargo specialist for our first 2 NASA missions, and sat on console for many Falcon 9 launches (across Dragon, Starlink, and other satellite payloads). I have a lifelong commitment to public engagement in science, and I continue to engage directly with the scientific community as a NASA Solar System Ambassador for the Seattle metro area.
I hold a bachelor of arts degree in mathematics from Wellesley College and a master's degree in engineering from Cornell University.
